This is a kimono sample fabric from the Meiji era (1868 - 1912). Samples like this were created by kimono weavers to show potential customers how their completed kimono would look. These kimono samples are very rare, as only the best kimono shops would create these. This one is especially unique as it is dyed and even embroidered using gold threads. This would look excellent in a frame.
